Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw inspected ongoing irrigation projects in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on January 15.

The projects use solar-powered water lifting systems and mechanized wells to ensure enough water for summer, monsoon, and winter crops across over 38,000 acres. So far, several wells have been completed, and more are under construction to supply water to 705 acres this year.

The Deputy Minister emphasized cooperation between farmers and government departments to improve food security, increase farm productivity, and ensure efficient use of groundwater. Once completed, the projects will provide irrigation for 947 acres in key areas, helping farmers plant crops on time and increase agricultural output.
