Agricultural Development : Monsoon paddy harvesting and provision of inputs

The 2025–2026 monsoon paddy model plot harvest festival and distribution ceremony of sunflower seeds and drum seeders was held in Thanatpyin Village of Hlegu Township in Yangon Region on Sunday.

Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended the event and made a speech, highlighting the use of drum seeders that help farmers reduce labor costs, save time, and achieve better yields. He also emphasized the importance of water management for agricultural success.

The Regional Economic Affairs Minister and officials also explained the region’s farming activities and drum seeder usage. The Chief Minister and officials then handed over drum seeders and sunflower seeds to farmers and demonstrated their use. They also observed the harvesting of the model paddy field using a combine harvester, green manure planting, and displays of agricultural machinery, seeds, fertilizers, and related items.
