Participants in the 16th Africa Eco Race, linking Monaco to Dakar, arrived in Dakhla, Morocco, before resuming their journey to Mauritania next Monday.

Over 500 competitors from 27 countries took part in the rally, which included motorcycles, four-wheel drive vehicles and light desert vehicles.

Organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and in partnership with the Moroccan Sahara Rally Association, the race covered nearly 6,000 kilometers across the deserts of Morocco and Mauritania.

The competitors endured 15 days of challenging racing before reaching the final stage at the Pink Lake near Dakar.
