Antiquarian book fair, library programme for children and sale festival conducted by the Department of Historical Research and National Library under the Ministry of Religious and Culture began on Friday at the National Library (Nay Pyi Taw).
25 antiquarian books released between 1766 and 1989 are on display at the book fair.
Director , Dept. of Historical Research and National Library , Pyone Pyone Aye said " The antiquarian books are over 200 years old. The oldest one is Myanmar Thin Pone Gyi Book and the other books are about colonial era administration, Kone Bong era administration, the administrative form of Myanmar people, laws during the reign of King Bagan, culture and tradition of Myanmar, travel and tourism and historical documents. For the children, we have storytelling progromme in which the Children are to create their own stories. In addition, art tools are ready for them to draw paintings. There’s also a quiz programme. We will award the outstanding children."
Book shops, souvenir shops and food shops are included at the sale festival. This Antiquarian book fair, library programme for children and sale festival is set to take place till the 27th of November.
