Academic Sector Promotion: Nay Pyi Taw State Academy opened

The Nay Pyi Taw State Academy of the Ministry of Education was opened on Wednesday with an address by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

SAC Member Daw Aye Nu Sein, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin formally opened the Nay Pyi Taw State Academy.

The Prime Minister then formally unveiled the signboard of the Academy and sprinkled with scented water. Vice Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and attendees also sprinkled with scented water.

It was followed by the opening ceremony of the Naypyitaw State Academy in the function hall where teachers and students from the National University of Arts and Culture and artists entertained with the opening song of the Naypyitaw State Academy.

In his opening remarks, the Prime Minister said that the aim of opening the Naypyitaw State Academy is to become an education capital for Nay Pyi Taw and to be able to learn the international standard and advanced education by the children of the State service personnel and the locals in 8 townships in Nay Pyi Taw.

Naypyitaw State Academy's logo motto is set as "Chancellor of Education" and the motto is deeply expressed "Only Education is the Lord, Only Education is the Head” and "Only Education is the leader". It was established with the aim of becoming one of the country’s top universities like Yangon University and Mandalay University.

The third year courses will be opened at the Naypyitaw State Academy in the 2022-2023 academic year  and the course years will be extended year by year. Moreover, post graduate classes such as Master and Doctorate courses will be opened for producing high qualified human resources for the State.

The Prime Minister added that a total of 175 schools including 75 universities and degree colleges under the Ministry of Education including the Nay Pyi Taw State Academy and the universities, degree colleges and colleges of 11 Ministries are being opened.

The advanced teaching system, international syllabuses, advanced teaching aids, practical apparatuses, the facilities that are necessary for the lab rooms and advanced libraries will be fulfilled to the Naypyitaw State Academy and it will be promoted as the top universities.

The Prime Minister called for promoting Myanmar’s education standard, serving for the interests of the state, and the regions while learning advanced education subjects at the Nay Pyi Taw State Academy, producing academics and future leaders by the university and making all-round efforts for Naypyitaw State Academy to become a world-class university.

Later, students from Meiktila University entertained with songs and dances. After taking documentary photos, the Prime Minister and party cordially greeted the students and teachers. Later, they viewed around lab room, teaching rooms and library in the Academy.

With the guidance of the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Naypyitaw State Academy was started to build in April this year in Zabuthiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area with the aim for producing educated youths who are necessary for the nation building tasks.

It is facilitated with teaching halls, assembly hall, teaching and administrative rooms, class rooms, lab rooms and library. The offspring of the locals including the children of government staff in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area can learn advanced education.
