












Families of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) held 2nd monsoon tree planing ceremony 2022 near Yezin dam in Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township on Monday with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
At the event, the Senior General said that Tatmadaw has been holding tree planting ceremony yearly and it has been more than a decade. The existence of trees and forests is an ecological chain for the survival of all living beings including humans.
Trees absorb toxic, gas and carbon dioxide caused by humans and animals and release oxygen for breathing. The Senior General called on Tatmadawmen to actively grow tree annually in order to conserve the natural environment and raise public awareness and participation of the people, which is part of the three main duties of the military service personnel.
Later, the Senior General and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla planted teak saplings. The SAC Vice-Chairman, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife, the Union Ministers and senior military officers and their wives as well as the Tatmadaw family members planted trees at the designate places.
The Senior General and wife and members also encouraged those taking part in the tree planting ceremony. For the 2nd monsoon tree planting ceremony, a total of 4,304 saplings of teak, iron wood, shad trees and Mangan-shar trees were planted.
From 2011 to 2022, the families of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) have planted totaling 177,053 teak, perennial and shady trees. Similarly, the tree planting ceremonies were held by respective military commands where a total of 195,038 trees were planted on 25th July.
