2,200 cyber-attacks per-minute in Indonesia

Indonesia has experienced 2,200 cyber-attacks in a minute, mostly targeting personal data, governor of the National Resilience Institute, Andi Widjajanto has disclosed. Governor Andi said that the number of the cyber-attacks were recorded at about 400 million per year, before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Currently, the number of the attacks has achieved 2,200 per minute.  Andi explained, with the rising cyber-attacks, Indonesia needs not only to improve the cyber security architecture, but also to update regulatory frameworks.

All stake holders including ministries and institutions such as the Ministry of Communication and Information. National Cyber and Crypto Agency, and the Indonesian National Police, should be involved in improving the country’s cyber security capabilities.
