








The 18th Press Conference of the Information Team of the State Administration Council took place at the Ministry of Information on Tuesday afternoon.
Leader of the SAC Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained about the SAC Chairman Prime Minister’s visit to the Russian Federation, financial Affairs, the word “Pyu Saw Htee” fabricated by some terrorist groups and exiled media, EAO issues and academic affairs and related matters.
The Maj-General said that during the visit to Russia, the Prime Minister attended hoisting ceremony of diamond bud and a pennant-shaped vane atop replica of Shwezigon Pagoda and consecration ceremony in the Ethnomir World Cultural City in Kaluga of Moscow.
A delegation led by the Senior General met Chairman of Russia-Myanmar Friendship Association and delegates, Russia-ASEAN Business Council Chairman and party, concerned officials, heads of department from the Ministry of Defence of Russia and the two sides discussed promoting bilateral economic relations, cooperation in education, exporting agricultural based products, electric power generation and boosting export and import sectors, human resource development and promoting science and technology sectors.
The Senior General and delegates also paid a visit to the Republic of the Tatarstan and met Tatarstan President, concerned officials and head of Novosibirk Government. During the visit, they discussed boosting investment and producing of oil and natural gas, further studies affairs and technical assistance and academic sectors, plan to operate direct flight between Novosibirk and Myanmar.
In regard with the financial Affairs, the SAC Team Leader explained the notification and order issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar on Myanmar’s foreign currency conversion system.
The Maj-Gen continued clarification that according to the decision at the State Administration Council’s economic committee meeting 6/2022 headed by the Prime Minister on 22nd July, permanent civilservants will be provided with housing rental fees.
Under the scheme, married civil servants will receive eight per cent of their basic salary, while single civil servants will be allowed four per cent. 10,000 kyats will be provided monthly for members of Myanmar Police Force as the Hardship and Risk Allowance.
The State Administration Council has been granting cash assistance civil servants and 27 kinds of rewards have been provided. Out of the remaining amount of over 491 billion kyats COVID-19 fund, 400 billion kyats is planned to disburse loans with low interest rate to the domestic businesses.
The Maj-Gen continued to say that the invitation of Prime Minister to ethnic armed organizations for peace process and as the result, 7 NCA-signatories EAOs and 2 non-signatories totalling 9, met with the Prime Minister. Arrangements are being made to hold meeting with the ethnic armed organizations that have already met previously for the 2nd time.
The Maj-Gen reaffirmed that the 2022 is designated as the year of peace and efforts will be made to achieve peace. He also clarified on instigation of AA for hampering peace and stability in Rakhine State, killing of innocent workers by KNDO in Myawady District, terrorist attack to Oo KaYit Hta outpost in Myawady Township in Kayin State, terrorist acts of PDF terrorist group to innocent people and Kaung for You illegal education program online.
Then, U Khin Maung Oo, a member of the Union Election Commission, explained the process being carried out by the Union Election Commission, including the inspection of political parties and verification the ground population census for the accuracy of the basic voter lists. SAC Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, UEC member U Khin Maung Oo and departmental officials of information team replied to queries raised by reporters.
