










The 1,500thAnniversary of the Prophet Day ceremony was held in Yangon on Thursday.
The ceremony was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun, regional ministers and concerned officials as well as Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Egyptian Embassy in Myanmar Dr. Ahmed Abdallah Mahmoud Atiya Eltahlawy, Chairman, Vice-Chairmen, and Central Executive Committee members of the Interfaith Friendship and Unity Committee (Central) and members of the Organizing Committee and followers of the faith.
The ceremony was opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran by a member of the Central Organizing Committee. It’s followed by a speech from the committee's chairman. A message from the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, U Tin Oo Lwin, was read out by Deputy Minister U Aye Tun.
A committee member then gave a speech of thanks. The Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Egyptian Embassy also gave a speech. And, members of the Central Committee presented on the life of the Holy Prophet. The ceremony concluded with honors for the first-prize winners of the Islamic religious literature competition.
