Veterinary Science: Efforts for development of veterinary sector

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, together with the Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi and departmental officials, met with the chairman of the Myanmar Veterinary Council and delegation at the Union Minister office on Friday.

During the meeting, the chairman of the Myanmar Veterinary Council presented reports on scrutinizing the University of Veterinary Science to receive accreditation of South East Asia, forming of the 7th Veterinary Council and assigning of 8 veterinarians from the Ministry to the council.

Then, the Deputy Minister clarified the collaborative activities of the Myanmar Veterinary Council, University of Veterinary Science and Department of Livestock breeding and Veterinary for development of the veterinary sector of the nation.

Upon reports, the Union Minister stressed on the further collaborative efforts of the ministry with the international and regional organizations and encouraged to make concerted efforts for the University of Veterinary Science to be accredited to South East Asia standards.
