Tourism Development: Plans for achieving targeted numbers of visitors

Shan State Tourism Committee held a meeting on Wednesday with the attendance of Chief Minister U Aung Aung in his capacity as the Committee Chairman.

The meeting discussed the plans to achieve the arrival of targeted numbers of tourist during 2024, as well as the implementation of Guest List Management System. Shan State possesses famous tour destinations like Taunggyi, Inle, Kalaw and Pindaya.

Being adjacent with Thailand in the east and China in the north, it is a strategic state for tourism industry. With the attraction of natural landscapes, traditional culture and customs, favourable climatic condition, smooth flow of transportation and emergence of new tour destinations, Shan State received over 1.4 million visitors from locals and abroad in 2023.
