Spreading fake news: Illegal subversive medias preading fake news

The illegal subversive medias are intentionally spreading false news on social media, claiming that combined security forces engaged in security operations in Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region burned down the Sin Chaung, YanNatPo, Kaing and NyaungTo villages on 21st April, resulting in the destruction of over 300 residential houses.

According to a report of a local resident who did not condone terror acts, it was found out that PDF terrorists are committing destructive acts such as forcibly collecting money and foodstuff from the locals, forced recruitments and arresting and torturing residents in Myingyan Township.

In response to this terrorism,the combined security forces, including the peoples’ militia, conducted security operations. During the operations, PDF terrorists launched heavy and small weapon attacks by using innocent civilians as human shields and burned down the residential houses in their retreat.

The combined security forces are conducting security operations in the townships and villages of Mandalay Region in order to prevent terrorists’ threat. The illegal subversive media outlets are intentionally creating fake news and misinformation to make the people panic and misrepresent the security forces.
