Rumors clarified: Information team clarified rumor on banknote

The leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council MaJ-Gen Zaw Min Tun clarified rumors on 20,000 Kyat Banknote and the situation of abducting teachers and students from Kalay University by the so-called PDF terrorist insurgents to apply as human shell on Monday.

The Major General explained crucial facts that the rumor on the 20,000 Banknote has been already clarified previously. That banknote was issued as a token since July, 2023. The press statement has already issued that it was issued to keep as a token and it will be available in a limit quantity through exchanging with decay and torn banknotes.

But such this time when the different rumors are flooding, the rumor on the 20,000-banknote recurred with the intention on the instability of financial market and banks’ operation. The Maj-Gen. also clarified the security forces have to rescue a total of 285 individuals including teachers, students and office staff of Kalay University abducted by the So-called PDF terrorists.

The information on the remaining ones still under capturing of terrorists has been investigating to escape them with every available means by putting utmost efforts. The security forces seized some dead bodies of terrorists and some weapons. Some of dead bodies found near the university are with the badge of CNA (Chin National Army).
