Rehabilitation tasks : Chin State Natural Disaster Management Committee meets

Chin State Natural Disaster Management Committee held its coordination meeting (8/2023) at the State Government Office in Hakha on Wednesday.

Lt-Gen Min Naing of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) office, Chin State Chief Minister Dr. WongHsunHtan and the State Ministers, the State Advocate-General and officials attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Lt-Gen Min Naing of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) office said that the damage list from 6 townships affected by cyclone Mocha in Chin State has been approved as of 29th May and the relief aids that are provided for the 1st time to the storm victims from respective townships are being provided to 4 townships and will continue to transport to remaining townships. He called on striving for correct date of relief items and handing over to the affected people. Later, Chin State Chief Minister Dr Wong Hsun Htan gave a speech.

After that, an official of Chin State Government reported providing assistance to cyclone affected people by power point presentation and departmental officials reported on rehabilitation tasks being implemented by respective committees, measures for internet access in Paletwa and temporary renovation of damaged teaching buildings before school opening season.

Later, secretary of the State Government discussed continuous assistance of foodstuffs to storm affected people and calculating damage lists based on the local price approved by the state government. In response to the reports, Lt-Gen Min Naing and the state Chief Minister coordinated essentials.
