Progress and Plans for Future Projects: Myanmar SEZ Central Working Body meeting

The Myanmar Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Central Working Body held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

Union Minister at the State Administration Council Chairman Office, U Aung Naing Oo led the discussions which centered around several key issues, including the utilization of raw materials by local MSMEs within the Thilawa SEZ, as observed by certain invested companies. He emphasized the importance of ongoing negotiations for the timely completion of preparatory aspects related to the implementation of the Kyauk Phyu SEZ Deep Sea Port Project.

Additionally, he stressed the urgency of accelerating efforts for the realization of the Dawei SEZ. Among the topics deliberated were the payment system within the Thilawa SEZ, as well as export and import conditions. Furthermore, the meeting addressed specific work undertakings within each Special Economic Zone.
