Indian navy captures Somali pirates PTC

Indian Naval ship Kolkata was deployed in the Gulf of Aden for anti-piracy operations, arrived in Mumbai with 35 Somali pirates on board.

The pirates were handed over to the Yellow Gate police. The Indian Navy intercepted the vessel, with the destroyer Kolkata confirming armed pirate activity onboard. The India’s Chief of Naval Admiral held a press conference on the operation Sankalp under which the rescue operation was conducted. He said that about 10 ships have been deployed in the region to keep the vessels safe from hijackings.
