F.S MoU Signed: Electricity Generation Projects in Tanintharyi

For the implementation of 3 MW Electricity Generation Project using Hydro Power Technology and another 7.8 MW Electricity Generation Project using Solar Energy Technology in Kyunsu Township of Myeik District, the Feasibility Study (F.S MOU) signing ceremony between Tanintharyi Region Government and New Myanmar Renewable Energy Co.,Ltd was held at region government office in Dawei Township on 26th February.

At the event, Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko said that the region development works of Kyunsu Township can only be carried out when the accessibility of electricity is implemented since the township is seperately located in an island where National Grid couldn’t get to.

Initially, the electricty can be accessed but not fully enough, even though changing the water pipes and reparing the equipment were made as the first step at hydro power plant in Nawarat lake of Kyunsu Township. Therefore, plans have been made to upgrade the exisiting hydro power generation in the lake and add the additional works for the solar systems.

He welcomed the company saying words of thanks and urged to carry out the speedy implementation. Then, Region Minister for Natural Resources U Khin Maung Myint and Secretary made disucssion while Chairman of New Myanmar Renewable Energy Co.,Ltd elaborated the work loads and ongoing plans. Afterwards, the Feasibility Study MoUs were signed between Tanintharyi Region Governmnet and New Myanmar Renewable Energy Co.,Ltd.
