Foreign Tourist Arrivals Reach 9.5 Million in Indonesia

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia said on Monday that the tourism industry still faced various challenges this year as the global travel industry had not fully recovered after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite the challenge, foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia rose sharply to 9.5 million as of October 2023, exceeding the government’s initial target of 8.5 million. The number of domestic tourist trips also increased significantly to 688.78 million. The added value of creative economy was recorded at 1,050 trillion, with exports reaching 17.38 billion US Dollars.
