FIFA unveils Women's World Cup trophy in Rio

The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup trophy was unveiled to the Brazilian public at Christ the Redeemer statue above Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday. The event was attended by legends of women's football, such as former Brazil soccer players Formiga, Aline Pellegrino and the head coach of the Brazil women's national team, Pia Sundhage.

Pia Sundhage, Brazilian Women’s Football coach said “(To be here) It’s special, of course. A fantastic view, a fantastic trophy, and I just look at Maracanã (stadium), ok that's a great place to be, so, this is the perfect place to be right now.”

The World Cup Trophy tour started in February 25th in Japan and will go through all 32 participant countries.
