e-ID Implementation :Union Minister inspects processes in Meikhtila

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing and officials on Friday visited the Meikhtila District General Administration Department Office and heard report on the Pankhin Project for issuance of national registration cards and census collection.

In his response, the Union Minister stressed the importance of accurate voter list, issuance of some kind of ID card to every citizen who has the right to vote and successful census collection for the country. And, the Union Minister inspected the Meikhtila Township Office and gave necessary instructions regarding the e-ID system.

At the Education Degree College, the Union Minister inspected the national registration cards issuance and Biographic/Biometric data collection under the e-ID system for students, teachers and locals and gave necessary instructions. It’s learnt that at the College, Unique ID numbers were issued to 180 persons under the e-ID system.

At the hall of the College, the Union Minister also held a meeting with the District/Township-level officials and staff and urged them to complete the tasks in time and to cooperate. He also coordinated the issues reported by the attendees. There, the Union Minister also provided cash assistance and foodstuffs for the officials and staff.
