Bangladesh's first wind power plant, backed by China, fully operational

With the last wind-driven generator installed, Cox's Bazar wind plant, the first centralized wind power project in Bangladesh was fully put into operation on Sunday. The first-ever wind power project backed by China, was built by Power-China Chengdu Engineering Corp.

Upon full operation, the project will provide Bangladesh to reduce coal consumption, carbon dioxide emissions as well as meet the electricity demand of 100,000 households. Meanwhile, the cooperation of the two countries in the energy field under the Belt and Road Initiative has achieved fruitful outcomes.
