French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and Canada's Justin Trudeau stood firm on Thursday in support of the trade agreement between Canada and the European Union, known as CETA, despite facing obstacles in France's legislature.

Both leaders expressed their confidence in the ongoing implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, with Attal describing it as a mutually beneficial pact despite facing opposition within France. During their meeting, Attal and Trudeau also addressed pressing issues such as climate change and the aftermath of the destructive forest fires that swept through Canada the previous year. Their discussions highlighted the importance of international cooperation in tackling global challenges.
