Argentine Harry Potter fans take part in magical book night

A multitude of witches and wizards took Buenos Aires by storm during "Harry Potter Book Night," which allows fans to dress up and test their knowledge of the popular children's saga.

The 5th edition of the annual event was organized by the British Embassy and is held within the gardens of the British ambassador's residence in Buenos Aires. Fans of the famed wizard and the series of novels following his adventures enjoyed an afternoon of games, contests and outdoor presentations in order to encourage reading and celebrate literature. The ''Harry Potter'' fantasy series of seven novels, based on the adventures of a boy wizard, has become the best-selling book series ever and has been adapted into a multibillion-dollar film franchise. ''Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'' was first published in 1997.
