Inspection Tour: Social welfare and disaster management activities in Labutta

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Ko Ko Lwin, together with officials, visited Labutta Township on Wednesday to inspect departmental activities.

The Union Minister visited the Youth Training School and reviewed the care, education and vocational training provided to young people, as well as the school's administration. He also met with staff and gave instructions to improve discipline and work performance.

He later inspected the Labutta District Disaster Management Office and relief warehouse, stressing fire safety, proper storage of relief supplies and continuous public awareness programmes. At a meeting with district-level officials, he discussed preparations for possible El Niño impacts, water supplies for drinking and agriculture, and plans to establish heat shelters to protect the public during periods of extreme heat.
