63rd world’s largest broadcasting union commences

The opening ceremony of the 63rd General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) took place on 1st November with much grandeur, at the Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams, in Colombo. The theme for this year is: Media for peace and humanity: truth, trust and transformation.

The summit is being held in Sri Lanka, with a focus on promoting the country as a destination for MICE tourism – Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions.  Representatives from 66 member countries of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union are attending the summit, representing a total of 225 media organizations affiliated with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.
