Newborn giant pandas at Chengdu breeding base

Newborn giant panda cubs are regularly brought out to crawl and sunbathe at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan Province of China. Young cubs, often still learning to coordinate their movements, frequently twist around, crawl across special blankets and nap in the warmth of the sun.

The Chengdu base is a world-renowned facility for scientific research and breeding and eco-tourism. It is also globally recognized for protecting and breeding endangered Chinese wildlife species.
