Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae held wide-ranging talks with her Bangladeshi counterpart Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo, Tuesday.

The two leaders issued a joint statement that both countries will work together on a range of economic matters. These include major infrastructure projects in Bangladesh, such as a port in the south and an international airport terminal in the capital, Dhaka. The leaders also agreed to work toward the early entry into force of a two-way Economic Partnership Agreement and further cooperation under Japan’s Official Security Assistance program.
