Actors Amy Adams and Jenna Ortega join New Zealand director Taika Waititi on the red carpet for the London Film Festival debut of his adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s book ‘Klara and the Sun’. The story centres around Klara, an ‘artificial friend’.

Taika Waititi, Director, said  "Then now that the film's coming out, all these years later, it feels strangely more relevant and more pertinent and more profound. I think a similar thing happened with ‘Jojo Rabbit’ actually, when I shot it, there weren't as many Nazis in the world. Then that came out just at the right time...things happen when they need to happen. "

Taika added that  “he didn't set out to make a film that wanted to be a discussion about facing with AI" and this, after releasing the film, it feels strangely more relevant and more pertinent and more profound”.
