Viet Nam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) concluded full-text negotiations for the Viet Nam-EFTA Free Trade Agreement (VEFTA) after 14 years and 21 rounds of talks. Viet Nam's Ministry of Industry and Trade finalized the sign-off proposal and sent it to the Ministry of Justice for appraisal.

Tariff Reductions by EFTA cover 99.5% of Viet Nam's exports to the bloc, including textiles, garments, footwear, seafood, computers, electronic components, machinery, and equipment. Discussions also included services, investment, intellectual property, rules of origin, government procurement, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and sustainable development.
