








Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe, accompanied by the Speaker of the State Hluttaw, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, State Ministers, Ethnic Affairs Ministers, the State Advocate General, the Secretary of the State Government, and other responsible officials, attended the 2026 State-Level World Teachers' Day Commemorative Ceremony held on the morning of October 5th at the City Hall in Taunggyi.
First, students from Basic Education High School No. 1, Taunggyi, opened the ceremony by singing the song "Myat Sayar" (Noble Teacher). Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe then read the message sent by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Agga Maha Thray Sithu, Agga Maha Thiri Thudhamma, U Min Aung Hlaing, on the occasion of World Teachers' Day.
Next, honoring awards for World Teachers' Day 2026 were presented. Shan State Chief Minister conferred awards to an outstanding award recipient from the Refresher Course No. 85 for Basic Education Teachers at the Civil Service Academy (Upper Myanmar), as well as to students who won state-level high school essay and poetry competitions.
Following this, Daw Yin Min Su, Director of the Shan State Education Office, read the joint message sent by the heads of five UN agencies. Speaker of the Shan State Hluttaw U Sai Lon Kyaw then awarded prizes to students who won state-level middle school essay and poetry competitions, as well as to performance groups at the event.
Afterward, the Chief Minister and party watched and supported the performances by teachers and students from Basic Education High School No. 5, Taunggyi, and warmly paid respects to the senior retired teachers in attendance. From there, the Chief Minister and responsible officials proceeded to the Shan State Hluttaw Office, where they warmly greeted state Hluttaw representatives who were attending the 4th Regular Session of the Third Shan State Hluttaw.
