Work Coordination Meeting : Discussion on supplementary budget of the Union

A work coordination meeting on drafting 2026-2027 fiscal year Union Supplementary Appropriation Bill was held at the Hluttaw Building in Nay Pyi Taw on October 2nd. Speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw U Aung Lin Dwe attended the meeting and made an opening remark.

The Speaker said 18 joint scrutiny teams have already been formed to conduct a detailed review of the receipts and expenditures of 2026-2027 fiscal year Union Supplementary Appropriation Bill and Union Fund Appropriation Bill.

The Speaker stressed the need to scrutinize the fund allowance, receipts and expenditures, taxation and fund appropriation to business entities by the Joint Public Accounts Committee and Joint Scrutinizing teams.

He emphasized that approval is needed to grant only for mandatory payments such as state tax contributions as well as expenses arising from foreign exchange rate fluctuations, actual additional requirements for salaries, pensions, and interest payments, and supplementary allocations.

In reviewing the drafting laws, the Speaker urged to examine in line with state constitution, Pyidaungsu Hlattaw law and by laws.  The attendees later made discussion on current and future work plans.
