Horse races marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence

Turkmenistan’s festive horse races took place on Wednesday at the capital's hippodrome to mark the country's 35th anniversary of independence. The celebration opened with a grand concert featuring performing artists from the country's five provinces alongside an exhibition of decorative arts.

The program included seven races for horses aged two years and older. Following the horse races, the winners were presented with traditional gifts such as handmade Turkmen carpets and national-style scarves.
