The Premier League has confirmed that Manchester City have been found guilty by an independent commission of the vast majority of over 100 charges regarding serious financial breaches. City were found to have arranged "sham" contracts with commercial partners to artificially inflate revenues and reduce costs by over 900 million euros.

In response to that, the club plans to appeal the decision, arguing the opinion contains material errors. A separate hearing will determine final sanctions, which range from heavy fines and points deductions to potential relegation from the division.
