Qiantang River tidal bore attracts tourists

Roaring tides along the Qiantang River in east China’s Zhejiang Province have attracted a large number of visitors to the area to enjoy the spectacle of the nature on Friday. The tidal bore, famous for its height and speed, is a traditional tourist attraction in Zhejiang.

Every year, soaring waves crash along the banks of the river, near the city of Haining. After the ebb of the tide, different tree-shaped patterns appear on the tidal flat. The tidal bore stages highest waves on the 18th day of the eighth lunar month, which falls on Sept 28 this year.
