Viet Nam-Canada seek stronger ties

As part of his state visit to Canada, Party General Secretary and President TôLâm delivered a policy speech at the Parliament of Canada.

The Vietnamese top leader outlined the foundations of bilateral ties, Viet Nam’s development path and new opportunities for cooperation to deliver substantive benefits for the people of both countries. TôLâm stated Viet Nam and Canada share an interest in greater autonomy and a peaceful, stable international environment.

He stressed that amid global uncertainty, relations built on trust, responsibility and shared long term interests hold strategic significance. The Vietnamese leader also expressed hope that Canadian parliamentarians would help turn the two countries’ shared vision into concrete actions and results.
