Anti-Corruption Awareness: MSWRR holds discussion at ministry

The Anti-Corruption Awareness Discussion Ceremony, jointly organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and the Anti-Corruption Commission, was held on September 22 at the Assembly Hall of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

In his opening speech, Union Minister Dr. Soe Win stated that corruption delays a country's development while also damaging its dignity, which is why every individual should refrain from corruption. He added that the ministry has formed a Corruption Prevention Unit (CPU) to carry out anti-corruption activities.

Following this, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission U Soe Thein stated that measures are being carried out in line with international standards to cooperate in preventing and combating corruption. He emphasized that since corruption is a major obstacle to national development and active participation in anti-corruption initiatives is essential. Next, directors from the Anti-Corruption Commission Office delivered presentations on corruption prevention and the Anti-Corruption Law. Attendees also asked questions, which were answered by concerned officials.
