Myanmar / China: Vice President attends 77th Anniversary Celebration

In honor of the forthcoming 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, the reception was held at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Yangon on 22nd of  September.

Vice President Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye attended the recepetion where she was welcomed by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia and officials. They also viewed the exhibition booths of charity bazaar where the fundraising will be rendered for the recent flood affected areas in Myanmar.

On the occasion,  the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People's Republic of China were played. Next, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia highlighted that China will continue to support Myanmar’s new government in pursuing coordinated development and security, finding a development path suited to Myanmar’s national conditions and supported by its people, and participating fully, equally and constructively in all ASEAN mechanisms and processes, as well as at the United Nations.

2026 also marks the 10th anniversary of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation. Ms. Majia stated that a total of 140 projects benefiting Myanmar’s people have been implemented, making Myanmar the the recipient of most Lancang-Mekong Cooperation projects. After that, Vice-President Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye delivered an address saying that  that Myanmar and China have deepened comprehensive cooperation across various sectors and enhanced mutual understanding.

She expressed deep appreciation for the Chinese government's continued support for Myanmar's peace, stability, and national development efforts, as well as its constructive support on regional and international arena. On the occasion commemorating the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, the Vice-President coveyed best wishes for China's continuous development and prosperity, and for the enduring Myanmar-China Pauk-Phaw friendship. Afterward, both the Vice President and the Chinese Ambassador cut the commemorative cake. During the dinner, the cultural troupe from Yunnan Province along with the embassy staff performed dance and music.
