Rehabilitation : MSWRR Deputy Minister welcomes returnees

Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and ResettlementDr. Thant Zaw Lwin along with officials welcomed local residents returning to Falam Township on September 17.

The Deputy Minister and his team greeted the returnees at the LutLatYae Pagoda and inspected the data collection process being conducted by relevant departments for a total of 111 returning individuals. Afterward, they provided support supplies to the returnees and spoke with them warmly.

Following the Tatmadaw’s control of the township, local residents and departmental staff began returning home starting May 6. Currently, government offices are operating as normal, and 21.64% of the township’s population has returned, with more arriving daily. In accordance with the guidance of the state leader, efforts are prioritizing infrastructure repair work and ensuring the psychological security and peace of mind of the returning citizens.
