US officials, Hitachi Energy announce $500 mn investment at G20 energy summit

Hitachi Energy on Tuesday announced a $528 million investment to build a new transformer manufacturing facility in Gallman of Mississippi.

U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Energy Secretary Chris Wright jointly announced the deal during the G20 energy summit in Houston. The factory aims to support growing U.S. electricity needs driven by advanced manufacturing and data centers. This project marks the largest single investment Hitachi Energy has ever made in the United States.
