Sports Facilities : Efforts to improve sports standards in Mandalay Region

Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports Affairs U Ye Myint Tun inspected sports grounds, sports halls and athlete training activities in Pyin Oo Lwin of Mandalay Region on Saturday.

During the inspection, the Union Minister called for the upgrading of old sports facilities to provide better training environments and instructed officials to properly maintain the facilities and keep them clean and accessible to the public.

The Union Minister observed training sessions in Myanmar traditional martial arts, table tennis, boxing, taekwondo, futsal and wushu, and provided sports equipment to athletes. He also urged officials to conduct basic sports training courses and identify young people with talent and potential for further development.

He later inspected Bahtoo Stadium, Aungmyay Mandalar Sports Ground and Shwe Mann Taung Sports Ground, including ongoing construction works. He stressed the need to meet required standards of the facilities, and to complete in the designated time.
