Signing Ceremony : MOUs on five GOI-assisted Quick Impact Projects

The signing ceremony for five Quick Impact Projects (GIP), assisted by the Government of India, was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. The Projects collectively aim to strengthen capacity building, skill development, cultural heritage conservation, media outreach, and sustainable rural development for the benefit of the people in states and regions across Myanmar.

Union Minister for National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Aung Kyaw Hoe and Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Abhay Thakur attended the ceremony, where officials from the Indian Embassy, the Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture, Ministry of Information and Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development signed the MoUs on five GIPs.

The Indian Government will grant total amount of 244,068 USD and Joint Project Monitoring Committees (JPMC) will be formed in order to monitor and facilitate the progress of the projects. In 2026–2027 Fiscal Year, a total of ten QIP projects will be implemented, comprising the five QIP projects being signed on Friday and additional five projects to be supported by the Government of India.
