







Rural Region Development Supervisory Committee held a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development on Thursday.
Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thein attended the meeting and gave opening remarks. He stated that the government is implementing strategies based on agriculture and livestock breeding and promoting the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises as a priority to achieve the sustainable improvement of the socioeconomic well-being of the people.
The Union Minister also explained the purpose of the meeting, stating that the cooperative system could make operations faster, reduce waste and enable the production of higher-quality agricultural and livestock products. He urged relevant officials to implement measures to increase the production of value-added products based on locally produced agricultural and livestock raw materials, with the mindset of creating more employment opportunities for local communities.
He also emphasized that the Committee must participate and cooperate in developing villages that are environmentally sustainable, and equipped with sound health systems. Committee members then discussed and reported on the implementation of activities related to establishing and providing funding, as well as social-sector activities in education and healthcare and efforts to protect and conserve the natural environment.
The Union Minister urged officials to consistently prioritize the interests of rural communities, emphasizing the need to harness the collective strength of people.
