Work Coordination Meeting : Meeting on temporary goods inspection station held

Kachin State Government held a work coordination meeting Wednesday morning at the Malika Hall of the State Government Office regarding the operation of the goods inspection checkpoint at the entrance to Myitkyina, with the aim of eliminating illegal trade, accelerating the flow of goods within the region, and ensuring that the State receives the taxes due to it.

Regarding the goods inspection checkpoint, a temporary goods inspection station is currently being operated at the foot of Shwe Moe Taung Pagoda near Bala Min Htin Bridge, with the Kam-Paing-Ti OSS team assigned to carry out inspections in order to prevent shortages of goods entering Myitkyina from China as well as locally produced goods.

The State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan gave necessary guidance concerning the relocation and opening of the goods inspection checkpoint at the entrance to Myitkyina at a new site. Afterwards, the state ministers and officials from state-level departments who attended the meeting discussed and coordinated the plans to be implemented in their respective sectors. Necessary arrangements were coordinated among the relevant sectors, and a Supervisory Committee and Working Committees were formed and assigned responsibilities to ensure that there would be no shortages of food and consumer goods in the region.

In addition, the State Chief Minister attended a ceremony at the meeting hall of the State Sports and Physical Education Department Office in Myitkyina to present a victory flag to the Kachin State selected judo team that will participate in the 2026 Region and State Judo Championships.

He also delivered words of encouragement to the athletes. Next, the coach of the state selected team explained the preparations made in advance for the competition and the team’s plans for participating in the event. The State Chief Minister then presented the victory flag and cash award of 2.5 million kyats to the selected team, while officials from the Judo Sub-Committee also presented cash awards.

The team manager expressed thanks on behalf of the team. Furthermore, earlier in the morning, the State Chief Minister inspected livestock and fish farming activities at the farm owned by U Hsin Wa Naw in Nga Oe Village, Mawphaung Village Tract, Myitkyina Township. The farm had expanded its operations with capital provided under the State’s economic development fund. In addition to chicken and pig farming, more than 20,000 fish fingerlings had been stocked to enable fish farming in the farm’s ponds. The Chief Minister also inspected the poultry sheds, where more than 5,000 chickens are being raised.
