Meeting with Cooperative Members : Call for collective farming and livestock activities

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein met with cooperative members in Bahan Township of Yangon Region on Friday.

He urged cooperatives to organize farmers into groups for systematic collective farming and livestock breeding instead of working individually. He added that the ministry will work with relevant departments and private businesses to help farmers access seeds, agricultural inputs, capital, and farming and harvesting machinery.

The Union Minister said cooperative farming and livestock activities are important for national food security and exports. He also called for higher yields, lower production costs, better market access, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
