The traditional bull race festival known as Moichara is an old cattle-racing festival celebrated in parts of southern West Bengal, India on Monday. Each year, approximately 100 local farmers train their cattle to participate in this annual festival before they begin cultivating their land. Bull owners trained their bulls for a couple of months before the race.

The jockeys rode on a pair of bulls, holding on to their tails, along 100 meters of a muddy soaked track in rice fields balancing barefoot on a wooden plank.
