




Resumed cross-border passenger train services between Viet Nam and China, such as the Nanning-Hanoi route, have served as a major catalyst for regional tourism, cultural exchange, and convenient eco-friendly travel.
Thousands of passengers from over 50 countries have used the restored lines, including students and cross-border workers. Bilateral agreements target new standard-gauge alignment and multi-billion-dollar projects connecting Kunming, Lao Cai, Hanoi, and Hai Phong. Besides, broader government plans the aim to link tourism hubs, integrate local transit, and scale up specialized cross-border tourist trains.
