India, Uzbekistan aim to double bilateral trade in three years

India and Uzbekistan have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic cooperation, setting a target of doubling bilateral trade within the next three years.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said both countries are seeking to deepen economic ties by increasing collaboration in mining, textiles, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food processing, and information technology and digital infrastructure.

Goyal also called for the removal of trade barriers, mutual recognition of standards, and the adoption of digital customs procedures to facilitate trade. He said the measures would support greater co-investment, co-manufacturing, and closer economic integration between the two countries.
