Over 100 experts to join National Advisory Council

During his Independence Day speech, President of the Republic of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced plans to establish a Presidential Advisory Council comprising recipients of national honours, and a National Advisory Council consisting of experts and scholars to provide guidance on key national issues.

The council could have between 100 to 150 members, he said. The president also emphasized the importance of drawing upon the experience of distinguished individuals in national decision-making. He added that procedures to establish both councils are being finalized, and they are expected to be formed within three months.
