Tour in Shan State : Coffee production and rural development projects

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein on Saturday inspected coffee production, export activities, and rural development projects in southern Shan State.

During his visit to Hopong Township, the Union Minister met with local officials and discussed plans to promote rural development. He urged departments and local authorities to work together and prioritize effective development projects based on local needs.

The Union Minister later visited the Green Gold Coffee Cooperative Association, where officials explained coffee cultivation, production, and domestic and overseas sales. The Union Minister pledged to provide necessary support, including farming inputs and capital, to help coffee growers expand production.

He also inspected the upgrading of a rural road project, which will benefit hundreds of households and local farmlands. The Union Minister instructed officials to complete the project on time, meeting the set standards.

The Union Minister also visited a coffee processing factory, where he observed production processes. At the Cooperative Accounting Vocational Training School in Taunggyi, and viewed the vocational training activities. He encouraged staff and students to improve skills, strengthen cooperation, and support rural socio-economic development.
