






A completion ceremony of a Mon traditional costume sewing training course was held at the Mon Pitaka Library in Yangon on Saturday.
The training was organized by the Department of Ethnic Literature and Culture and the Mon Literature and Culture Committee (Yangon), with support from the Yangon Region Government.
Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Than Maung attended the ceremony and made a speech, saying that Myanmar’s ethnic groups have their own unique traditional costumes and cultural heritage. He encouraged trainees to preserve and promote Mon traditional costumes by learning proper sewing techniques and passing the heritage on to future generations.
Certificates were presented to the trainees, and Mon traditional cultural dances were performed at the ceremony. The Union Minister and officials also viewed traditional costumes made by the trainees.
